Welcome!
Hi there!
If you’ve landed on this post, there’s a pretty damn good chance I sent it to you directly. Maybe I texted it, maybe I shared it with you personally, better yet maybe someone else passed it along. And if you somehow found it on your own out in the vastness of the internet… well, that’s even better.
Either way, I’m glad you’re here.
My name is Marquez, and this is the 91 Sports Network — a platform built to give Western New England its own voice in the regional sports conversation through podcast and articles.
If you follow sports around here, then you already know the story. Most of the conversation in New England revolves around Boston, as it should! Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, Patriots, D-1 College sports, Minor League affiliates, high school state champions, heck even the Revs… these teams are all part of the DNA of this region.
But if you live out here along the I-91 corridor — Western Mass, the Pioneer Valley, Northern Connecticut, even Southern VT— our fandom simply doesn’t always get represented.
That’s where this network comes in!
The 91 Sports Network is my attempt to build a hub for sports fans in this region — a place where we talk about the teams we care about and love, the storylines that matter, and the takes that come from our side of New England.
Here, you’ll get regional sports coverage, a little bit of national headlines, and plenty of NFL Draft talk (if you know me, you know that’s one of my favorite rabbit holes). We’ll talk fantasy sports, gambling, literally anything happening across the sports world that is worth discussing.
But it won’t be just sports.
If you know me personally, you know I’m also a huge fan of film and entertainment. My family and I practically live at the cinema. And in case youre wondering, yes, we proudly hold Cinemark Movie Club memberships. So from time to time you’ll see movie reviews, gaming talk, and pop culture conversations sprinkled in as well.
Think of this place as sports first… with a little bit of everything else that makes life fun.
How We Got Here
Now, if you’ve been around me long enough, you also know this isn’t my first attempt at building something like this.
The first swing came years ago with a show called ITGR — “In The Greenroom.” I hosted it under an alter-ego named Marq Anthony, along with some of the worlds greatest friends, and it was my first real attempt at jumping into podcasting and building something of my own.
After that came DraftLord Sports, a project many of you who know me probably remember. That platform focused heavily on NFL Draft coverage, prospect rankings, and draft analysis. It was something I poured a lot of time into during COVID and something a lot of you supported along the way.
Both of those experiences taught me a lot. Some things worked. Some things didn’t. But every step along the way gave me lessons that eventually led me here, the third chapter.
And you know what they say…
Third time’s the charm.
What You’ll Get Here
With the 91 Sports Network, you’re getting everything I’ve learned from those past experiences — combined with what I’ve learned through my professional work in marketing, athletics, and community engagement. But most importantly, you’re getting me!
I’m not here pretending to be some polished media personality, or a pulitzer prize winner. Im not trying to sound like somebody that im not. I’m just a guy from Western Mass who loves sports, loves talking about them, and enjoys sharing opinions. Sometimes you’ll agree with me, sometimes you’ll think I’m completely wrong, and both are welcome, because the best part of sports has always been the conversation.
The Goal
At the end of the day, my hope and vision for the 91 Sports Network is simple. I hope this platform becomes something that sports fans in Western New England can connect with. I hope the content makes you laugh sometimes. I hope it makes you think. I hope it sparks conversation and debates with your friends, family, co-workers, rival fans, internet trolls…. anyone. And if that happens, then this project is doing exactly what it’s intended to do.
So whether you’ve known me for years or you’re just discovering this network today…
Thank you for being here.
And welcome to the 91 Sports Network!
